What began as a simple outing to a baking class in Ann Arbor with my mom quickly turned into a lifelong love for baking. At just 12 years old, I learned to make French macarons — and after countless attempts (and failures!), I finally perfected that delicate little cookie. From that moment on, I was hooked. The more challenging the recipe, the more determined I was to master it.
Soon, I discovered a love for decorating sugar cookies. Since my family couldn’t possibly eat everything I baked, I began sharing them with friends and neighbors — and the response was overwhelming.
